Can essential fatty acids help you lose weight?

An essential fatty acid is considered essential because your body cannot make it from the foods you eat so therefore it must be present in the form of a food or supplement. But what is an essential fatty acid? Essential fatty acids have come to be known as the “good fats” because of all the positive reported benefits. They are the Omega 3 and Omega 6. If Omega 3 and 6 are present then the body can make Omega 9 – Therefore Omega 9 is not considered “essential” although it is certainly necessary.
